PhytoLab expands its reference substance business

Cerilliant Corp. becomes the distribution partner for phyproof® reference substances in the USA and Canada

Vestenbergsgreuth, - (August 2008) – PhytoLab GmbH & Co. KG announces its entry into an alliance with the Cerilliant Corporation of Round Rock in Texas, USA, for the future sales and marketing of phyproof® reference substances in the USA and Canada.

PhytoLab, a member of the MB Holding's the nature network®, specializes in the analytical testing of herbal medicinal products and food and is one of Europe's leading companies in this sector. Some years ago, PhytoLab also began to produce and market ultra-pure reference substances for the analytical testing of plant-based products. The portfolio, which has now grown to include more than 800 reference standards, is distributed by partners within the nature network® and sold worldwide via an Internet web shop. These channels are supplemented by regional sales and marketing partners in Argentina, Australia, Chile, New Zealand and Spain.

The alliance will enable Cerilliant to augment its portfolio by the addition of the 800 herbal reference substances to over 3400 standards.

"The growing sensitivity for quality issues related to herbal products in the USA and Canada has stimulated the demand for high-quality reference standards," according to Dr. Hartwig Sievers, responsible for the Regulatory Affairs/Medical Affairs/Reference Substances division of PhytoLab. Manufacturers of dietary supplements, the most important segment for plant-based health products in the USA, have had to meet more stringent quality requirements since June 2007.
