Our Equipment Provision in Detail

With thin-layer chromatography (TLC), gas chromatography (GC) and high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), at PhytoLab we offer you all the relevant chromatography methods for testing your products. In concrete terms, we work with well over 30 HPLC systems with different detection systems, more than 20 gas chromatographs, seven GC-MS devices, four GC-MS/MS devices as well as six HPLC-MS/MS systems. Today, the very selective and sensitive mass spectrometer detection is an indispensable part of the analysis of herbal products, and renders valuable service, particularly in residue analysis. So for example, for the secure demonstration of any residues that may be present, it is frequently necessary to take precautions in order to exclude interference through the complex matrix. Through the application of this technology, on the basis of the molecular weight and the characteristic fragmentations we can clearly allocate the detected signals and screen out matrix effects.

The techniques used at PhytoLab also include atomic absorption spectrometry (AAS) and ICP-MS (mass spectrometer with inductively coupled plasma). UV/VIS spectrometers and NIR and IR spectrometers are also available. When deciding which method is most suitable for your products, we shall of course bring our experience to bear in assisting you.
